RootsIreland offers the most extensive and easily searchable database of Catholic Church records anywhere online. The newly added records and their dates are listed here. These additions bring the majority of North Mayo’s Catholic parish records on RootsIreland up to the year 1923. The earliest records in this collection are marriage records from the parish of Kilconduff/Swinford dating back to 1808.
It is worth noting that while the National Library of Ireland (NLI) offers free access to Catholic parish registers for North Mayo (and across all of Ireland), these records typically extend only up to around 1880/1881, with some variation. In contrast, the records available on RootsIreland cover a broader date range, extending into the early 20th century.
